I'm More Confused Than Ever

A beautiful woman is confused while reading a text from her boyfriend.
How long does it take for him to know?

Our beautiful friend, Jordan, was excited when her boyfriend of over a year asked her where she thought they were heading. But then his response has her more confused than ever and she's looking for some help!

Her story:

Hi Jane,

I've been getting your emails for quite some time now and I love your advice.

I met my boyfriend a year ago (today) and it's been an interesting journey so far mainly due to his job - he is in an elite group of the US Special Forces so he is constantly gone, sometimes little communication, a month trip here, 2 months there, etc. Currently, he is on his first six month deployment.

I think he's had a lot of time to think over there and is usually not an emotionally expressive guy so I was really surprised when I got a text from him yesterday asking "where do you see us headed in the future?" (we can't talk on the phone - only text right now so that is why he didn't call).

I was 100% honest with him.Continue Reading

Ghosted by Boyfriend of Over 2 Years!

A woman ghosted by her boyfriend stares at her phone in shock.
"I was so shocked that I just stared at the phone."

One of our dear, gentle-hearted readers, who has called herself "D", is an absolute mess after her long-time boyfriend simply disappeared on her, without so much as the courtesy of a phone call.

After over 2 years!

Her email:

My boyfriend of over 2 years has "ghosted" me.

Our last conversation ended with him saying, "Sweet dreams and have a good night".

All was good and thinking nothing was amiss, I called him the next night (we always spoke several times a day), and he didn't answer. I know he was on the other line because my call was placed "in waiting".

I called him the next day, and no answer.Continue Reading

8 Simple Ways To Be Happy NOW (Before You Have a Committed Relationship)

A beautiful woman stretches in the morning thinking about ways to be happy.
“I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.” – Audrey Hepburn

We all want to be happy, right?

And we know that if we’re happy now, before we’re in a relationship, then we’re much, much more likely to be happy later, when we’re in a committed relationship.

And here’s the funny thing – we’re also much, much more likely to GET into a relationship when we’re happy. And we’re much more likely to get into a relationship with someone else who’s happy when we’re already happy.

And that leads to what’s known as a happy relationship, which is something we all want.

Am I right?

So then the question is, how do we get happy when we just don’t feel happy right now?Continue Reading

We Went From Talking or Texting Everyday To Suddenly Nothing

A beautiful woman looks at her phone wondering why he suddenly disappeared.
He suddenly stopped responding to any of my texts.

One of our lovely readers, who has requested to remain anonymous, was dating a guy for a couple of months when he suddenly disappeared on her, both emotionally and physically. They went from seeing each other often and talking or texting every day to, "poof", nothing.

Here's her story:

Jane,

I am at a loss for what to do and I feel I need someone who is objective and doesn't know me personally to give me an honest answer. I will try to give as much info as possible without making it too long.

I began dating this guy whom I met online. Or at least I thought we were dating.

We spent two months together to be exact. He would call me every day and we would talk for at least an hour he would send me a good morning text every morning and good night texts every day and we texted throughout the day.

Then he just walked out of my life without so much as an explanation.Continue Reading

Was It Me?

A beautiful woman holds her hands out wondering if it was something she did wrong.
What if I hadn't argued? Where would we be then?

Our gorgeous friend, Brooklyn, is wondering if things would be different if she had just put up with his excessive drinking and partying. She's wondering if the breakup was really her fault.

Here's what she wrote:

Hi Jane,

Your blog has helped me enormously after my recent breakup.

However, I have a lingering question. Was it me? Did I make our love not worth fighting for? Did I take the fact that I thought my boyfriend would never leave me for granted?

To give you some background, I was with my boyfriend for about 9 months. I have never loved someone as deeply as I loved him and he said the same to me. However, our relationship started to get rocky a few months ago.

I felt alcohol and friends were his priority and I was always second best. To give an example, one night a few months ago I was grieving the birthday of my deceased mother, as well as other life stresses and he chose to go out with our friends to drink that night despite me voicing that I really needed his company/support that night.

He ended the relationship due to excessive fighting, however I am strong enough to admit I was rarely the culprit of the fights.Continue Reading

9 Years, 1 Dog, 1 House... No Ring

A woman holds her dogs head close, showing affection.
Could this really be the end?

Our beautiful friend, who has signed herself "Confusing Journey", has been on quite the journey indeed. She's wondering if he'll ever propose, or if this should really be the end. Read on for her story...

Here's her letter:

I have been with my boyfriend for 9 years. We met when we were 17 and 19.

We have had a great relationship, with some hiccups a long the way, him leaving, back together, me leaving... back together. The longest we ever separated for is 3 weeks though.

All of those issues occurred early in our relationship when we both were so young and we always worked through the issues. He is fun, but serious at the same time, a business major. His family says he has always been a 40 year old in a boy’s body. Lol.

He is confident and determined and is stable. I am outgoing and funny and care free. Kind of opposites, but I have seen his outgoing side and he has always been my rock.

Welllll, we were still not living together, but at our 7 year mark he decided that someone else had caught his attention and that he wanted to pursue this person.

He broke up with me and I was devastated to say the least, but in his defense he was completely up front and honest about it the whole time and 2 weeks went by of him in this limbo of does he want me, or does he want her.

Finally, I chose for him. I left for good.Continue Reading
