I have a confession to make.

I’m the one who starts crying (OK, I have to admit sometimes I’m actually bawling) at some of the Christmas songs playing this time of year.

Maybe it’s because they bring back such memories of more than just time and places and experiences, but of actual emotions, and the feelings I had, whether it be happy, sad, excited, when these particular songs were playing.

Times that now only exist in the back room of my mind, and are brought out and dusted off for a fresh new look by my current self, whether I want to look or not.

It's time to start living the way you were meant to!

I’ve got some breaking news for you; you don’t need a guy to live your life.

You don’t need a guy to have a world to fit into. You don’t need a guy to feel like you can start living. It’s what you choose to make of it.

You can keep waiting, hoping for the right guy to hurry up and come along and rescue you from your current life because you think it’s easier to find yourself in someone else’s ready-made life than make one of your own.

But the price you pay for that is your self-esteem, your worth, your confidence, your you.

Did someone forget to tell you that you can be anything you want to be? You can! You can do anything, be anything, achieve anything, if you believe in yourself that you can.

Sometimes you need to hear it from someone else.

Remember the last post when we were talking about how it all begins with you? Well, I’ve got more to say about that.

About how to get there when that’s the last thing you’re feeling. And you’re not sure how to begin.

I’ll tell you how it began for me.

I met with my therapist and explained to him that I was so tired of repeating the same patterns over and over again, and how I was thinking there must be something I was missing in my search for my soul mate. Some kind of key that would unlock the mystery and reveal to me the secret to finally finding my true love.

If you’re anything like me, you know what it’s like to always be looking for that elusive secret.

Trying to figure out what you’re missing to finally get it right. To finally find and be found by the guy that would be the right one for you.

Or at least the guy who would be the right guy to enjoy a real relationship with.

Because like you probably are, I was so tired of finding myself in dead-end relationships over and over again. It took me a long time, too, to finally attract the right kind of guy into my life. No matter how many books I’d read or advice columns I’d found.

We have so much worth, we just don't realize it.

Have you ever noticed that you attract and are attracted to the level of your own self-esteem?

Like if you’re feeling great about yourself, full of confidence that you really are all that, you’re going to find yourself attracted to that guy in front of you at the grocery checkout line.

But if you’re feeling down, feeling like you’re not all that, maybe you had a less than glowing job review, or you’re put on a few extra pounds that you’re not happy about, then the opposite holds true as well.
