We have so much worth, we just don't realize it.

Have you ever noticed that you attract and are attracted to the level of your own self-esteem?

Like if you’re feeling great about yourself, full of confidence that you really are all that, you’re going to find yourself attracted to that guy in front of you at the grocery checkout line.

But if you’re feeling down, feeling like you’re not all that, maybe you had a less than glowing job review, or you’re put on a few extra pounds that you’re not happy about, then the opposite holds true as well.

What would your life be like if you truly believed everything was going to work out perfectly?

I know what you’re thinking: It sounds like a cliché. 

Just believe! It’ll happen. Just believe it and it’ll come true.

And while there are a lot of people out there who claim the power of believing in something, that it really works, I’m going to go a step further here and talk about the power of believing that I’m referring to.

The kind for us not so sure types that get so hung up on how to do it right that we end up not getting the point of it.

The Things We Do For Love

Why we do them, no one knows. But if we think it’s love, we’ll try it.

Because they’re into skiing and we want to do things with them and we just know it’ll be easy to pick it up.

No, no, no! Do not do this.

I learned this one the hard way. And ended up on the roof. Of a shed. On the slopes.

It was supposed to be skiing on the trails, and not scary. But, in my enthusiasm for my new beau, I neglected to mention that I had never skied before, and in fact, found the whole thing a little scary.

But I, the ever idealistic pleaser, was sure it would work itself out.

Right.

So there we were. Of course I looked the part in my expensive sexy snow bunny suit, so I figured that would make it all work out. I’d look so good it wouldn’t matter that I didn’t really ski (at least not well).Continue Reading

It’s hard to let go of a dream.

Even harder to let go when we still believe the dream might still come true. Someday.

So we hang on.

A little longer. Or maybe a lot longer.

Because it was everything in the beginning. It seemed like the beginning of that perfect relationship.

The real thing. He seemed like everything we were looking for. He seemed to be in it as much as we were. But then everything changed. And he’s not in it like he used to be. And we are.

I know. It’s hard to hear it.

We want it to work so badly.

It’s got all the makings of a real relationship if he were ready to commit.

But that’s the thing. He’s not and you are. And that’s why it’s over before it even begins.

I know, you’re thinking if you just give it some time, he’ll come around. But I’ve been right where you are enough times to know that it doesn’t get any better.
