There's something you need to know.
If you're not ready to move on from someone, if all you want is to be with him, regardless of how he's treating you right now, because you believe in him and who he is underneath the outside veneer, because you love this man no matter how dysfunctional a love it is, then nothing you do to try to move on or get over him is going to work.
Nothing.
You'd only be fighting yourself in the process.
It's so important for you to understand this because telling yourself it's not working, that you can't move on, that what people are telling you to do, like going no contact or seeking therapy, won't work anyway because you tried that before, only becomes true if what you're currently doing is actually working for you.
I've been there.
Look around you.
Where is he?
Is he there?
Is he reaching out to you? Is he showing you he's worth all the time and energy you're spending thinking about him, wondering about him, going back over and over what you should have done instead?
No, he's not there.
He's not anywhere that you know for sure. Only in your mind. Only when you bring him up, when you remind yourself of everything he was, everything he seemed to be in what seems like such a different time and place.Continue Reading

My question is regarding how one can fall out of love with someone, when everything is the same if not better over time? I have seen many bad and dysfunctional relationships and people sticking together for the wrong reasons.
My boyfriend and I met on a dating app last May and have been together for a year. The past month he was being a little distant but in a very subtle way. He was still texting me but it felt lackluster and routine. When I would flirt with him or try to make plans he wouldn’t respond with excitement but he would respond.

So my boyfriend will talk to me in person but never messages me or starts the conversation, and when I dont text him he get worried, but he says he doesn't like talking on the phone or texting.

Is it supposed to be this complicated?
That's the question I was asked by one of my clients the other day. And just like I explained it to her, let's settle this issue for you as well.
Love isn't complicated. It's only because the only kinds of love we've ever known have been complicated, convoluted and conditional that we're so confused on this one.
When you're with someone who isn't playing with your heart, who doesn't need to project their own insecurities onto you to cover their own to make themselves feel better, you simply have two people getting to know each other and building a relationship based on earned trust.
