What would YOU say is the reason you're single and what would YOUR BEST FRIEND say? No, I'm not yelling, just want to make sure you get both down 🙂

I was thinking about this last night. When I first meet you on a call, I will ask you this, because it matters.

I've never met anyone on my calls who was choosing to be single, even if that's what they said.

Either you're so tired of being asked if you're "still single" and you've got your defenses up so you say the same thing you've always said. Or you're so past the giving up stage that you've just accepted this as your fate.

Our letter this week comes from beautiful Anna. She's having doubts about a man she's been dating for a year and a half and isn't sure what she should do with them. I have some thoughts for her and after hearing her story, I'm sure you will, too.

Dear Jane,

I have been reading your emails for some time and they are very encouraging so I would like to thank you for that.

I've been dating this man for a year and a half. He is kind, and a good man, and we are in exclusive relationship. He treats me well, he says he loves me and that he is in love with me. However, when I am with him, sometimes I feel I work hard for his attention.

Our letter this week comes from one of our beautiful readers I'm calling Sandy. I'll let her tell you her story below.

Here's her story:

I met a wonderful man this last summer and we immediately hit it off. We are both in our 50's and I cannot begin to explain to you how many things we have in common, how often we laugh together, and our communication has been amazing.

We love to just spend time together.

He tells me he loves me something terribly and I feel the same way. It’s one of those type of relationships where everything is perfect for the both of us, EXCEPT one thing.  We both agreed and still agree to this day we have something special, we are best friends.

He was married for 21 years and after he divorced, he dated another woman for a year and a half. It was a toxic relationship and ended one sided several times with her leaving him.Continue Reading

Where have we heard that before? It's an all too familiar one for most of us. And that's our letter writer's story this week, one of our beautiful readers who wants to remain Anonymous, so I'm calling her Lee. She likes a guy who only wants to be friends so she's wondering what to do.

So the thing is.... I like a guy from my school and he is amazing. Well, we talk a lot and we even text often.

But at the end of the day when I tell him I like him, he says he still wants us to be friends. I don't know what to do.

Does He Just Want a Friend With Benefits?

After 3 years we suddenly became FWB!

Our beautiful friend Julie is going through an age old problem so many of us have encountered before; the guy who wants all the "benefits" but doesn't want the relationship!

Here's her email:

Hi there, I am not a younger lady, I'm a mature 56 year old and never needed an answer to a personal matter before!

I have been friends with a man for 3 years now and nothing but friends, going for drinks and a meal, to a meal at his. No hugs or a peck goodbye until about 2 months ago we became friends with benefits!

We have always texted mostly daily throughout the 3 years, mostly him first.

I started to have feelings 18 months ago but never told him. Since the friends with benefits started, my feelings have become stronger and I couldn't hide it from him! He likes me very much and we really get on but he doesn't want anything more, like a relationship!

This week our beautiful friend Jo finds herself falling apart after her boyfriend of one year told her he wants some "space". She's wondering if there's any hope left at all.

Hi Jane,

My story is not really complicated, but it might be different than usual.

I moved to States from Europe around mid-September last year.

I was bored, didn’t have friends yet, so I went out on a date with guy met online. To be honest first date was not great. He had too much wine and started touching me which I don’t like on a first date with the guy that I just met. I was even so stupid that I let him take me home. We kissed, but I didn’t like it.

But that's how I actually met my boyfriend.
