I have a confession to make.

I’m the one who starts crying (OK, I have to admit sometimes I’m actually bawling) at some of the Christmas songs playing this time of year.

Maybe it’s because they bring back such memories of more than just time and places and experiences, but of actual emotions, and the feelings I had, whether it be happy, sad, excited, when these particular songs were playing.

Times that now only exist in the back room of my mind, and are brought out and dusted off for a fresh new look by my current self, whether I want to look or not.

The ONE THING You Need to Do to Find Mr. Right

This is the one thing I wish I had done.

I have a few single girlfriends who are now in their late thirties and early forties that are always asking why they haven’t been able to find their Mr. Right. 

So I looked back at my own life to try to understand why it took me until I was over thirty to find him myself, after so many failed relationships, all which began with so much promise.

I realized that the single most important thing that I could have done that would have saved me so much time and heartbreak, the thing that I was missing all of those long, seemingly wasted years, is to have really known what I was looking for!

I know, it sounds so simple – you’re probably thinking “Of course I know what I’m looking for – a great guy!”

The Things We Do For Love

This is how I wound up on a roof...

Why we do them, no one knows. But if we think it’s love, we’ll try it.

Because they’re into skiing and we want to do things with them and we just know it’ll be easy to pick it up.

No, no, no! Do not do this.

I learned this one the hard way. And ended up on the roof. Of a shed. On the slopes.

It was supposed to be skiing on the trails, and not scary. But, in my enthusiasm for my new beau, I neglected to mention that I had never skied before, and in fact, found the whole thing a little scary.

But I, the ever idealistic pleaser, was sure it would work itself out.

Right.

So there we were. Of course I looked the part in my expensive sexy snow bunny suit, so I figured that would make it all work out. I’d look so good it wouldn’t matter that I didn’t really ski (at least not well).Continue Reading
